PROJECT
New York Public Library

DESCRIPTION
Spanning 92 branches and 3 boroughs, NYPL is the system of libraries for Manhattan, Bronx and Staten Island. This brand identity system offers a contemporary and flexible approach to spatial, print and digital applications. At the core of the identity is the idea of indexing and archiving, where each word in the mark is indexed. This logic is inherently flexible and results in a unique but cohesive identity for each branch.

PRINTED MEDIABooklets that outline the key characteristics of each branch emulate the characteristics within the logotype.

DIGITAL MEDIAThe digital presence of NYPL uses the index marks from the logotype to generate grids and determine the placement of elements. Digital research is made engaging and easy.

SPATIAL MEDIAThe identity seamlessly applies across individual branches, creating a cohesive visiting experience from beginning to end.
