PROJECT
Knowledge Discovery Ecosystem

DESCRIPTION
KNODE is a research platform that bridges the gap between interdisciplinary concepts with the goal of generating new knowledge. The platform rethinks the rigid taxonomies and feedback loops present in today’s digital research environment.

ALTERNATIVE ORGANIZATIONAL SYSTEMSKNODE proposes 7 ways to look at information, each offering engaging visual frameworks and multidisciplinary connections.

The first is Non Linear Search, which allows users to create a unique network and explore the connections within that network.

SPATIAL DISCOVERY Users can search with gesture in a 3D environment rather than a flat list.

CROSS-DISCIPLINARY NETWORKThe research is compiled and based on the extracted themes, the tool suggests related but seemingly disparate topics and datasets.

EXPLOREAs opposed to a mouse and keyboard, researchers search with the body.

CONNECTA clear trail is necessary for researchers to understand how they got to what they did, this tool provides that as well as suggestions along the trail.

OVERLAPThe idea of overlap emphasizes how 2 things come together to form new knowledge. Key commonalities and quotes are extracted from this new idea and collated into a dimensional object.

PUBLISHSharing with others and experiencing others’ new knowledge is also made possible.

SPATIAL CONNECTIONS WITH INFORMATIONAcknowledging the existence of information and knowledge in physical contexts like archives, libraries and museums, KNODE asks the question: What happens when we take a generative interface into a spatial context?

PRINTA publication summarizes my research which ranges from topics such as biological systems, design criticism, computer science and the history of communication.
